Punk tattoos are most frequently colorful and are located on highly visible parts of the body; it also includes the head and face. Tattoo imagery is a mosaic of borrowed symbols and icons from various cultures and subcultures: skulls, dragon Asian and tribal designs, biker elements, literal tattoos, anti-establishment tattoos, punk and music icons and animals. It is based on non-conform appearance from the point of view of clothing, hairstyle, tattoos and jewelry. Punks have created their own universe; they have obeyed their own rules and they have not been interested in what other normal people could say about them. Punk tattoos are a chaos and rebellion against dullness. Usually they are large placed on arms, back, legs in black and grey color. Colors as red or yellow showing off fierce and rebel are mostly used.
Mostly teenagers and young men and women go for punk tattoos depicting sacrifice, torture, wars and other images. A tattoo used to be a permanent and irreversible adornment to one's skin. However, in recent years derma surgeons have developed safe and effective techniques to successfully remove unwanted tattoos. Tattoo inks are classified as cosmetics, so they aren't regulated or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The pigments and dyes used in tattoo inks aren't approved for injection under the skin. Long-term effects of these are unknown. Specific risks of tattoos include: Blood-borne diseases. If the equipment used to create your tattoo is contaminated with the blood of an infected person, you can contract a number of serious blood-borne diseases. These include hepatitis C, hepatitis B, tetanus, tuberculosis and HIV; it is the virus that causes AIDS. This also causes skin disorders. Your body may form bumps called granulomas around tattoo ink, especially if your tattoo includes red ink. Tattooing can also cause areas of raised, excessive scarring, if you're prone to them. Temporary tattoos, such as those applied to the skin with a moistened wad of cotton, fade several days after application. Most contain color additives approved for cosmetic use on the skin. However, the agency has issued an import alert for certain foreign-made temporary tattoos.
They are not cushioned with muscles like in other parts of the body. As a result, you will feel increased amount of pain and perhaps bleeding. The greater the amount of bleeding, the higher the chance of swelling. This is one part of the body where blood circulation is not adequate and is, therefore, susceptible to a lot of stress which makes it prone to swelling. If you wear shoes and socks, heat, sweat, and friction worsens the situation further. So, definitely avoid it until the tattoo heals. It's better to wear footwear that won't cover or touch the tattoo. And of course, most of the time, our feet are exposed to dirt and pollution which also makes it more susceptible to infection.
If you are planning on both your feet inked, do it one at a time. This is because after the process is over, walking on your newly inked feet will be tough for a few days. Which is why, getting both feet tattooed is not a great idea. Get the tattoo done when you know you can rest the next day or two. This way, you can avoid wearing footwear that will cove the tattooed area. Also, if you work at a place where you have to stand a lot, or have to go to school, taking a day or two to adjust to the tattoo is necessary. Ask a friend or family member to drive you to and from the tattoo parlor. Your foot will be sore which makes driving a car afterwards a risky task.
Follow all the guidelines and instructions given to you by your tattoo artist. Remember how often you need to change the bandaging and the cleaning process as well. Also, don't forget to apply the ointment suggested to you by your tattoo artist. Drink lots of water and fresh fruit juices in order to reduce edema. Once you reach home, lay down on bed or couch with your tattooed foot elevated high on a few pillows. If the tattoo hurts or is throbbing, take an ibuprofen or apply ice to keep the pain and swelling at a minimum. Under any circumstance, NEVER scratch, peel, slap, rub, or pick your tattoo.
Stay out of direct sunlight, and no swimming in a pool or at the beach. Avoid soaking baths and hot baths. While at work or school, try to keep your tattooed foot elevated for as long as possible. Avoid wearing shoes and socks; wear footwear that won't touch the tattoo. The morning after, you might wake up and feel that it's difficult to balance yourself properly on your tattooed foot. It's perfectly normal, but make sure you take it easy and not overexert yourself. As we mentioned earlier, minor swelling and redness is common. However, if you find oozing or skin that is hot to touch, get your foot checked by your health care provider. In a few days' time, you should try to engage yourself in mild aerobic exercises as it will get your heart pumping and increase blood circulation to the entire body (and your feet). The swelling can keep going up and down at particular intervals. One morning it may seem that the swelling has gone down and the next morning you may find that it is hurting too much. Keep a close watch on the swelling to check out for any infection.
Body art lovers have got almost every part of their body inked, including the lips. Tattoos are generally done as a style statement and they are meant to be flaunted. But it is not possible to flaunt a lip tattoo, as it is not done on the outer part of the lip, but on the inner portion of it. Then, why is it gaining popularity so fast? First of all, lip tattoos are a new thing, and any new thing catches attention easily. Secondly, lips are a very delicate part of the body, and inking them can be considered as a sign of courage! But are lip tattoos worth the pain? This question arises because they do not last long; they fade away very fast compared to any other area. They can last only for a few weeks or a month without any touch-ups.
There are several reasons for it. One of the major reason is that our mouth contains moisture, due to which the pigments of tattoos get absorbed. There are also certain chemicals in the mouth which are responsible for the fading. And while they are fading, they smudge, which makes the lips black. There are certain anti-fading creams available, but they do not work in case of lip inking due to the moisture. So, before you go through the pain of getting inked on your lips, keep it in mind that this tattoo will need touch-ups if you want it to stay. There are only a limited number of designs when it comes to inking on the lips, as there is no space for an elaborate design.

You can have small star or a flower design inked on your lip. Engraving names or a personal word is also one of the famous ideas. Many times, offensive words that are not said in public are featured in the lip tattoo, as no one can see it unless and until it is shown. But, do lip tattoos hurt? Yes they do, just like any other tattoos do. But the pain also differs from person to person. Swelling after getting inked is a natural thing, and lip tattoos are not an exception to this. The swelling normally stays for two to three days, but it starts receding after the first day. If it hasn't lessened even after two days, it is definitely a thing to worry about. It could be the symptom of an infected tattoo.
There are a couple of reasons for prolonged swelling; if the person getting inked is allergic to certain pigment used in the ink, excessive swelling may occur. This is very likely if the tattoo has not been done by a professional artist. Professional artists use ink prescribed by the FDA, which is safe, while other artists hardly use the prescribed ink. So, to avoid swelling, the best option is to get inked done from a professional artist and follow all the instructions of aftercare given by him/her. Taking proper aftercare will reduce the healing time of the tattoo. Along with the swelling, you may experience a strange taste in your mouth, which is because of the blood and the ink, and there is nothing to worry about. Scabbing may also occur, as it occurs after every tattoo.
Inner lip tattoo care is simple, as well as very important. Our mouth contains a number of bacteria, so the possibility of infection is very high. To avoid infection, place a tissue or cloth between your tattoo and teeth. This will delay fading and will also reduce the possibility of infection. As stated earlier, our mouth contains a number of bacteria, so there is no point in increasing the numbers by not washing the mouth. So, rinse your mouth with an anti-bacterial mouth wash after eating and smoking. Other preventive measures are applying ointments that contain vitamins A and D. This simple aftercare tips will surely help your lip tattoo to last longer. This was all about swelling after getting your lips inked. So, take the proper aftercare and do not ignore any signs of infection. If any symptoms do occur, visit a doctor immediately.
Like any other fashion fad, tattoos come and go. Today, the time for tattoos has come again. The sleeve tattoos in tribal designs of yester-year is out of fashion, relegated to punks and rebels. Fashionable tattoos today are more subtle and spiritual, like Sanskrit tattoo designs. Sanskrit is the origin of many modern languages in South Asia, East Asia and South East Asia. According to Sir William Jones, the noted 18th century philologist, Sanskrit, ancient Greek and Latin all share a common root. Sanskrit script is horizontal in nature, with a bar on top and many curved edges. It is elegant and perfect for artistic rendering. You can have a single word like "Om" (often interpreted as universal peace in modern spiritual writings) in lower back tattoos, or a motto (like "Satyameva Jayate" - "Truth alone triumphs") in an armband tattoos.
Do you have someone you would like to remember forever? Translate his or her name into Sanskrit and have it inked into your "in memory" tattoo design. It is more unique than using our everyday Roman alphabet, and you do not have to make any awkward explanations to your future boyfriend or girlfriend why you have someone else's name tattooed on your buttocks. One of the major religions in the world, Hinduism, uses Sanskrit for its religious texts. Another major religion, Buddhism, also has religious texts in Sanskrit (Although it mostly uses Pali). If you want to commemorate some wonderful event or miracle in your life, why not do it using Sanskrit tattoo designs.
Of course, if you are Christian, using Latin in your "in memory" tattoo design is perfectly fine too. The oldest surviving Hindu religious text is the Rig Veda, written in Sanskrit, dated to 1500 BC. Two other great Hindu epics exist - the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Sanskrit tattoo designs using some of the magnificent verses from these ancient writings would make a great conversation piece. So would using some of the beautiful "sutra" Buddhist verses, written in Pali or Sanskrit. Tattoos like these are ideal for someone more spiritually inclined. Sanskrit tattoo designs make for a beautiful alternative to other popular tattoo images like the celtic cross or flower tattoos.
Vampire tattoos can be very disturbing. Obviously that's the point of the tattoo. Vampire tattoos are one type of gothic tattoo that people are getting. Sometimes the images are vampire women or maybe just teeth. There are people to whom vampire tattoos can be a method of self expression and it doesn't have to be that dark. Supposed you feel that you are a night person. Your body comes alive once the sun goes down. Several times in your life you or someone may have described you as a vampire. No, you're not interested in living off blood but you are so much more productive in the night hours. Since there aren't many vampire tattoos in the mainstream, you want to be careful that you don't get a tattoo that has been replicated many times over.
